Rick Nason

Rick Nason is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Rowe School of Business (Dalhousie University) teaching courses in Financial Management, Risk Management, Derivatives, Case Analysis, as well as creating highly interactive and integrative simulations. Fields of research are Enterprise risk management, Financial risk management,  Applied complexity science,  Financial crisis,  Financial markets,  Derivatives and financial engineering,  Small business and Entrepreneurial finance. He is the author of “It’s Not Complicated: The Art & Science of Complexity in Business” and “Risk Management for Nonprofit Organizations” among other books and articles on risk and complexity. He has been awarded Faculty of Management Teaching Excellence Award, Manulife Award for Teaching Excellence,  A. Gordon Archibald Award for Teaching Excellence, Honorary Membership, Golden Key International Honour Society and the MBA Professor of the Year award from Dalhousie University.

Omer Livvarcin

Dr. Omer Livvarcin is a management consultant, a university professor at the University of Ottawa and a researcher at the Nonprofit Management Laboratory. He holds a Ph.D. and two master’s degrees in Management and Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. Besides his roles in academia, Dr. Livvarcin is also the Founder of Vectors Group, a consulting and training firm specialized in bridging theory and practice. Dr. Livvarcin’s research interests include stakeholder engagement, strategic management, change management, organizational performance, leadership, team building, portfolio and project management. He is also involved in multidisciplinary research where Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics are used for immigrant integration or government project management. He is co-author of Risk Management for Nonprofit Organizations. He has also developed and published several scientific models and metrics to increase strategic and operational performance in public, private and non-profit organizations.
